I’ve had a stupid idea.
I’m known for them. But this one is quite the stupidest of them all.
I’m going to (plan a) run/walk from Minehead to Poole along the South West Coast Path in one hit.
There. I said it was stupid.

A bit of history
I live in Dorset, fairly near to South Haven Point, which is one end of the South West Coast Path. I’ve had a lot of dealings with the path, and it’s gotten under my skin a bit, but until quite recently the idea of doing the whole lot in one go didn’t really occur to me as a serious consideration.
Then with Covid, all the ultra events I’d entered have been cancelled, and then cancelled again, and now I’m getting to the point where I’m thinking outside the box. Hanging around on the SWCP Facebook group started my brain twinking with the idea, and now I’m seriously considering it.
And there’s a lot to consider!
How many miles per day? What time of year? B&B or camp or a mix of both? What about logistics? And possibly most importantly of all… is it even possible for little ol’ me to actually get around?
This Website
It’s early days, but I’m thinking about a lot, so I wanted to write stuff down from the start. The intent is that I’ll be sporadic, and generally keep posts short, mainly using as a diary of planning for me and potentially as a useful resource for other people who might want to do the path.
So I’ll stop for now, and bang out another post soon.
